August 16, 2008 (Sawf News) - John Mayer opened up about his break up with Jennifer Aniston earlier this week confirming that he was the one who had dumped her because of "different chemistry."
"People are different, people have different chemistry, they have different lives,” he told reporters after a work out at an Equinox Gym in New York's SoHo neighborhood in Saturday, August 16.
“I ended a relationship to be alone, because I don't want to waste somebody's time if something's not right," he added.
"There's no lying, there's no cheating, there's no nothing," he explained in his characteristic style.
Mayer, 30, who never talked freely about the whirlwind romance with Aniston, 39, which spanned continents while it lasted, appeared emotional and edgy but not bitter about the breakup.
He paid a tribute to his former girlfriend saying "Jennifer Aniston is the smartest, most sophisticated person I think I have ever met."
Commenting on the news that Aniston had a new man in her life already, John said, "I don't care."
Aniston, 39, and Mayer, 30, were first spotted on a date at Michael's restaurant in Miami, Florida Friday, April 25.
