March 22, 2008 (Sawf News) - American actress and Goodwill Ambassador for the UNHCR, Angelina Jolie, has won three Golden Globe Awards, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, and an Academy Award. Angelina is known for her roles in films such as Mr. & Mrs. Smith, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and Alexander.

Born on June 4, 1975 in Los Angeles, California, Jolie is the daughter of actors Jon Voight and Marcheline Bertrand.

Jolie, whose parents separated in 1976, has been long estranged from her father.

Jolie married British actor Jonny Lee Miller, her co-star in the film Hackers, on March 28, 1996. They separated the following year and subsequently divorced on February 3, 1999. They remain friends.

She then married American actor Billy Bob Thornton, her co-star in the film Pushing Tin, on May 5, 2000. They divorced on May 27, 2003.

Jolie began dating Brad Pitt her co-star in Mr. & Mrs. Smith in early 2005. She is accused by the tabloid press of having caused the break up in Pitt’s marriage with Jennifer Aniston.

Jolie denies the accusation saying, "To be intimate with a married man, when my own father cheated on my mother, is not something I could forgive. I could not look at myself in the morning if I did that. I wouldn't be attracted to a man who would cheat on his wife."

Jolie did not acknowledge her relationship with Pitt till January 2006 when she confirmed to People that she was pregnant with Pitt's child.

Jolie and partner Brad Pitt have six children.
