JERUSALEM (AFP) - "This decision was taken following an agreement between the homosexual pressure group 'Open House' and representatives of the Orthodox Jewish community," Karadi told army radio Thursday.
Police had said late Wednesday that the march which organizers had originally planned would probably be postponed due to a high state of alert following threats by Palestinian militants to resume suicide attacks.
The Vatican had also called for the planned march in the Holy City to be called off for fear of offending "the sensibilities of religious communities that reside in Jerusalem and hold her dear."
The event will now be held in the stadium of Jerusalem's Hebrew University.
