London, Mar 31 (ANI): Boots No7 Protect & Perfect Beauty Serum that was reviewed by independent scientists who said it was effective in reducing wrinkles, is in such high demand, that it has literally flown off the shelves in Britain within days of its endorsement by them .

Boots describes the cream as a 'skin-firming and complexion-brightening serum.'

The product was examined in BBC2 Horizon program, where scientists were amazed that it was as effective as prescription-only products at reducing sun damage to the skin.

The ingredients include peptides, which have been shown to boost the levels of supporting collagen in the skin, and white lupin extract.

This is said to lessen the breakdown of collagen by enzymes known as matrix metalloproteinases

Dermatologist Professor Chris Griffiths, who is Foundation Professor of Dermatology at the Manchester University, said that at both scientific and clinical levels the serum proved to be effective.

"At both basic science and clinical levels Boots No7 Protect & Perfect has been shown scientifically to repair photo-aged skin and improve the fine wrinkles associated with photo-ageing,’ the Daily Mail quoted him, as saying.

Boots Beauty Director, Ian Filby, said that the product is being sought by women, who are competing with each other to grab the serum.

"We have been overwhelmed with the response following BBC Horizon, with women literally racing each other to get hold of the last product in stores,” Filby said.

The 17 pounds product is being resold on eBay for almost four times the price. (ANI)
