The charity's executive director, Jennifer Delaney, said in a statement Thursday, December 4:
"With the holiday season upon us, we hope the generous gift from the Jolie-Pitt Foundation inspires others to give and focus on assisting orphans and highly vulnerable children around the world. Each and every donation can truly make a difference in the life of a child."
Jolie-Pitt Foundation donated $1 million to GAC in 2006.
"GAC is honored to receive a second grant from the Jolie-Pitt Foundation, and we greatly appreciate the Jolie-Pitt Family's continued commitment to and support of our work," Delaney added.
The couple donated $8.4 million in 2007 and rank #8 in a list of the 30 most generous celebrities of the world.
In September they donated $2 million to the Global Health Committee to establish a HIV/AIDS clinic in Ethiopia.
