December 04, 2008, (Sawf News) - Country crooner Taylor Swift is looking forward to her nineteenth birthday on December 23, which she plans to celebrate with her band and crew.
"I'm so excited," she told MTV News at the rehearsal for the Grammy Announcement Concert on Tuesday. "I'm turning 19. ... It's not 18; it's not 21. But it's going to be fun. It's the last year of my teens."
"I am having a party with my band and my crew," she added. "A year-end, you-guys-are-awesome party."
Being born during the holidays probably explains Swift's cheerful disposition, and the fact that she is easily pleased when it comes to gifts.
"The best gift for me would be stationery - I really like cards a lot," she says. "I asked my family for new glasses, 'cause mine broke, and I need them to drive. I've been, like, taping them, which is, of course, not the best look for anyone."
Meanwhile Swift's sophomore album, Fearless, which dropped on November 11, has sold over a million copies. After opening at #1 on The Billboard 200 during its opening week it slipped to #4 in its second week, but has climbed back to #2 in the third week.
Swift told MTV that she is currently hard at work on the video for the single White Horse. The single for Fearless, the title song of the album, won't be released for a while.
