"I'm really excited about it," Simon told the Daily Mail. "She has her act together and the new record is terrific."
Referring to Britney's triumphant comeback with a three Moon Men win at MTV Video Music Awards on September 7, Simon added, "She has come back from a very dark place and is a terrific artist."
Simon, 49, recently separated from girlfriend Terri Seymour, whom he had been dating since 2002. Terri is reported to have moved out of Simon's Beverly Hills home and is now dating actor Stephen Dorff.
