October 13, 2008, (Sawf News) - The beauty and intimacy of Brad Pitt's photos capturing a week in the life of his partner Angelina Jolie is impressive says W's Creative Director Dennis Freedman.
Freedman hit upon the idea of letting Brad Pitt photograph Angelina, perhaps the world's most photographed celebrity, on a suggestion from photographer Bruce Weber who pointed out that the best pictures of Elizabeth Taylor were taken by her third husband, Mike Todd.
Pitt readily agreed to the suggestion.
"I was surprised that Brad accepted the challenge," says Freedman of Pitt's enthusiastic response. "Last time we collaborated, I was struck by his sensitivity to the subtleties of photography. I knew that he possessed a highly tuned critical eye and would be very demanding of himself. Still, I wasn't prepared for the beauty and intimacy of the images he made of Angelina and the children."
Pitt shot the photos using Kodak Tech Pan film, which hasn't been manufactured for four years and was procured for him at great cost and effort by the W magazine photo editor.
