"He broke her heart," an insider tells Us magazine in its latest issue.
Taylor Swift and Joe Jonas never acknowledged their relationship publically.
Joe attended Swift's concert at the Cruzan Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach, Florida, on Sunday night, August 17. Swift was the opening act for Rascal Flatts.
Following her performance, Joe went backstage to see Swift.
When the Jonas Brothers appeared on Ryan Seacrest's morning show on 102.7 KIIS FM on Tuesday, August 5, Joe deftly evaded questions on his relationship with Swift.
"Are you dating Taylor Swift?" Seacrest asked.
"She is a great girl and I think anyone would be lucky to be dating her," Joe responded.
"What about Taylor Swift? Do you like her? Do you like her music? Have you gone out on a date with her?" Seacrest persisted.
"I think anyone would love to go on a date with her," stonewalled Joe.
Similarly, speaking to reporters at MTV Video Music Awards on September 7, Swift when asked if she was dating Joe said, "He's an amazing guy, and anyone would be lucky to be dating him."
Reps for both stars declined comment.
