Photo Credit: AvonOctober 03, 2008, (Sawf News) - Professional commitments maybe putting a strain on the relationship between Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal, with Jake working long hours in Morocco and London on his upcoming film Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.
"This is his first epic, and his mind is on his work," a friend of Reese tells Star. "They talk on the phone and e-mail, but he's not 'there.' Reese is wondering if this is how it's going to be between them every time he's out of the country filming."
Despite their busy schedule the couple has managed some time together, but only briefly.
They spent a few days together in Morocco in the second week of August, and earlier holidayed in Paris in July.
Since then, the relationship has reportedly hit a rough patch forcing Reese, 32, to fly to London to be with Jake, 27, in mid-September, where the couple stayed at The Dorchester hotel.
"They really needed to reconnect and remember why they were in a relationship in the first place," says another source. "While there, they even went house hunting for a place because Jake will be using London as his home base until December. Reese doesn't like the formality of a hotel for her and her two kids."
Hopefully, celebrating the holidays together "will get them back on the same page," adds the source.
Reese and has been openly dating Gyllenhaal since her divorce from Ryan Pillippe was finalized in October 2007.
Reese's upcoming films include Four Christmases, a comedy directed by Setch Gordan that additionally features Vince Vaughn in a lead role. It dwells on a couple's struggle to visit all four of their divorced parents on Christmas Day.
