During his call, Adnan did not just deny the sex tape story, he also said that he knows people hate him and he believes he is one of the most hated men in America. He went on to repeat the assertion several times, appearing to suggest to the radio station that if they sided with him they should expect a lot of hate mail.
Adnan came through as very considerate of Britney and was upset because he didn't want the sex tape story, which surfaced when Britney was in New York to promote her new single Womanizer, to overshadow her recent success.
Adnan is reported to have told Heat magazine that he has a sex tape featuring Britney Spears which he will sell to the highest bidder.
However, Adnan categorically denied the story telling Star magazine:
"There is no sex tape, and I've never claimed there is one. I don't know where these quotes I'm supposed to have said have come from. What I do know is they certainly didn't come from me and they are completely false.
"I'm extremely upset and distressed and I'm taking legal action... This story has caused a lot of hurt to my family and people close to me."
