October 02, 2008, (Sawf News) - Scarlett Johansson would never have married Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds if he had not been a liberal, but the fact that he cooks her dinner a lot probably was a bonus!
According to Pagesix, the newlywed actress was overheard telling a pal Reynolds, "cooks me dinner a lot, and we always try and eat early when we can."
Recently, Johansson told Cosmogirl she never dated a non-Democrat: "I never have . . . I think part of dating somebody is sharing the same ideals."
Johansson, 23, married boyfriend Reynold, 31, in a quiet ceremony on Saturday, September 27, at the "rugged, but luxurious" Clayoquot Wilderness Resort, on a nature reserve in British Columbia, Canada.
The couple started dating in April 2007 and announced their engagement in May 2008.
Johansson was so determined to keep the prying press away from her wedding that she texted wedding invites to 40 guests, who stayed in plush canvas tents at the resort, which can only be reached by seaplane or a 30 minute boat ride.
"Scarlett wanted a ceremony with just family and a few select friends. She wasn't going to let anything interfere with her wedding day. They work hard to keep things private," a source told People.
