September 27, 2008 (Sawf News) - Kate Middleton is "trying out" police protection officers to pick the ones she is most comfortable with, following a decision by Prince William and her father that she needs security, for which they will pay.
The Daily Telegraph quotes a security source familiar with the situation at Clarence House as saying, "Having a protection officer is a very close relationship and it is vital to get it right.
"The officer is the person with whom you can end up spending most time and it can be a nightmare if it is someone you can't get along with."
Middleton, 26, met William, 26, while studying in the University of St Andrews in 2001 and the two started dating shortly thereafter.
Since graduating from St Andrews in 2005, Middleton has been closely followed by paparazzi and the royal family has been occasionally rattled by the manner in which photogs have pursued her.
Middleton and Prince Harry's girlfriend Chelsy Davy have been invited by the Queen to Buckingham Palace for Prince Charles's 60th birthday celebrations, reports The Sun.
They will be amidst the 150 guests at a lavish black tie banquet on November 13, a day before Prince Charles's birthday, which is expected to be attended by top ranking dignitaries including Prime Minister Gordon Brown.
