September 22, 2008 (Sawf News) - Miley Cyrus has denied a recent press report that she and her father Billy Ray want to pull out from Disney's Hannah Montana TV show and focus on their singing careers.
Speaking with People magazine on Monday, September 22, Miley said:
"I am fully committed to Hannah Montana. It's what gave me this amazing opportunity to reach out to so many people. I couldn't do it alone. We have an amazing cast that is so supportive, including my dad who has been there for me every step of the way.
"I'm really excited about our new season. We are making great new episodes that I can't wait for our fans to see."
Disney similarly termed the report as "just gossip."
A source close to Miley called it "a lot of craziness."
"Miley is never late to work," the source told People. Every minute of her day is planned out. When she's not shooting the movie or the series, she's recording the [Hannah Montana] soundtrack."
Denying reports of squabbling on set between Miley and her co-star Emily Osment, who plays Lilly Truscott in the TV series, the source added, "Emily and Miley are like sisters. Occasionally they have disagreements but they make up and they never let it effect their work."
Meanwhile, Disney has brought forward the release of Miley's Hannah Montana: The Movie from May 1 to April 10.
In the film, Miley reprises her role in the TV series. Her father, concerned by her success as Hannah Montana, persuades the teenager to return to her roots in her hometown Crowley Corners, to reflect about the things that really matter in her life.
