September 18, 2008 (Sawf News) - George Clooney's portrayal of a paranoid sex addict in his new film Burn After Reading has boosted sale of sex toys.
"Small mentions of adult products in mainstream media can have an outsized effect on sales," a retailer told PageSix.
In the film, Clooney's character, Harry Pfarrer, is very appreciative of two marital aids: "The Liberator Ramp," which costs $112 and allows couples to experiment with different positions, and "The Silky," a vibrator.
Since the release of the Coen brothers comedy, in which Clooney co-stars with pal Brad Pitt, sex shops have seen an increase in customers asking for the products.
