The model turned singer joined her husband Wednesday afternoon, September 10, to attend her youngest step son, Jean Sarkozy's wedding. Jean, 22, an elected politician himself, married Jessica Sebaoun-Darty, heiress of one of France's biggest electronics retailers, Darty.
Carla takes out time from her busy schedule as the First Lady of France to fulfill her love of singing. She released her third album Comme si de rien n'etait on July 11. She has no plans to go on tour but is set to make her singing debut in UK. She will be seen performing live on BBC's "Later... with Jools Holland" show on September 16. She will sing songs from her new album.
Former Beatle Paul McCartney and U.S. heavy metal band Metallica will appear on the show alongside.
Carla plans to donate profits from her album's share to charity.
French first couple is all set to receive Pope Benedict XVI when he arrives in France on Friday, September 12 for a four-day visit.
The Pope is on his first visit to the country since he became pontiff in 2005.
Carla was in news last month with rumors that she was pregnant. Pictures of the couple on vacation showed Nicolas patting her stomach. There has been no official confirmation or denial of the reports though the couple's wish to have a child together is no secret.
