September 6, 2008 (Sawf News) - Selena Gomez has denied recent tabloid reports that a song she penned - I'm Sorry - is about Nick Jonas.
"It's definitely not about Nick Jonas," the 16-year-old told People Saturday, September 6. "It's about someone back home in Texas. When I read it, I was like, 'Oh no this gossip has to go away!' I haven't known the Jonas Brothers for that long, but I've gotten really close with all of them."
Selena, 16, who stars as Alex Russo on Disney's Wizards of Waverly Place is currently in New York to promote the show's second season.
Selena says she has started work on her debut album.
"This year I'm finally in the process of starting an album. It's something that I've been wanting to do for a long time and I also want to take my fans through that journey so I'll definitely do a whole behind the scenes thing," she said.
Looking ahead, Selena and her good friend Demi Lovato will appear in the family comedy TV film Princess Protection Program (2009), the story line for which goes like this:
When a tiny country is invaded by a dictator, a young Princess, Rosie (Lovato), is taken into custody by the Princess Protection Program. She is whisked away to rural Wisconsin where she must learn the ins and outs of behaving like a normal American teenager. In the process of adapting to her new life, Rosie gives her new friend and roommate, Carter, a few lessons in how to act with royal aplomb...
