September 1, 2008 (Sawf News) - A man who attempted to sell personal and intimate photos of Prince William with girl friend Kate Middleton to the British tabloid 'The Sun' was arrested after the tabloid reported him to the police.
The photos were taken with a digital camera believed to belong to Kate's younger sister Pipa. The camera was stolen and the theft was reported to officers from Kensington and Chelsea shortly before midday last Friday.
Shortly after the theft of the camera was reported, two men, calling themselves John and George, contacted The Sun and asked for $100,000 for the flash card, which they claimed to have found in a gutter in the Maida Vale area of North West London.
The tabloid immediately alerted Prince William's staff at Clarence House.
Scotland Yard detectives arrested one of the suspects, a 25-year-old man, following a dawn raid on an address in West London yesterday. They are believed to be closing in on the second suspect.
There were more than 40 photos on the flash memory card which was offered to The Sun, including those taken during the couple's recent vacation in the Bahamas, with several of them showing Kate doing yoga on the beach in a bikini.
Several snaps showed the couple cuddling and one showed them gazing at each other as they took a dip together in the pool.
Other photos showed Kate with members of her family, including Pippa, brother James, and parents Carole and Michael.
