August 26, 2008 (Sawf News) - Twelve extras who worked on the upcoming historical thriller Valkyrie have sued Tom Cruise and his production company, United Artists, for $12 million, for injuries sustained during the production of the film in Berlin last year.

They were riding a vintage Nazi-era truck when its side panel gave away, as it rounded a corner in central Berlin, spilling them on to the street and leaving them with cuts, bruises and broken bones!

Lawyer Ariane Bluttner, who represents the extras, claims the side panel on the truck had not been properly secured when it flew open.

"A new letter has been sent to Tom Cruise, (business partner) Paula Wagner and United Artists, in which we set out the facts of the case again and put a figure on the legal demands of our clients ... of $11 million," lawyer Ariane Bluttner told Reuters.
