August 1, 2008 (Sawf News) - While Los Angeles Police Chief William Bratton may have made a point with his "Lindsay Lohan has gone gay" remark earlier in the week, Lindsay made hers on Friday, August 1 by telling Bratton to mind his own business.
By outing Lindsay, Barton did what the paparazzi and the tabloids had hesitated to do despite the overwhelming evidence.
A pap asked Lindsay's BFF Samantha Ronson how she felt about being outed by Bratton as she was boarding a flight to Chicago with Lindsay. Samantha kept quiet but Lindsay responded saying, "Police Chief should not get involved in any one else's business when it comes to their personal life. It is inappropriate."
Bratton remarks about Lindsay were made in the context of a proposal before the LA City Council to regulate paparazzi.
Barton says "there are currently on the books sufficient laws, rules and regulations" to regulate the paparazzi and feels celebrities are as much to blame for the chaos on the streets as the paps.
"Since Britney started wearing clothes and behaving; Paris is out of town not bothering anybody anymore, thank God, and evidently, Lindsay Lohan has gone gay, we don't seem to have much of an issue," he said.
After making the above remark, Bratton called a news conference Thursday to clarify his comment saying that he was a huge proponent of gay rights and his sister is gay. He and his wife recently donated money to Equality California, a group that aims to block a ballot measure seeking to ban same-sex marriages.
