When asked if she's been physically abused, Simpson replied, "I don't want to talk about it, but I have definitely experienced abuse in a way that I would tell people to take their heart and run."
Jessica's first country music album, Do You Know is set for release on September 9. She worked on the album with her inspiration Dolly Parton.
Jessica told Elle that the songs in the album are written from personal experience and the lyrics for the song Remember That include the lines:
It doesn't matter how he hurts you,
With his hands or with his words,
You don't deserve it,
It ain't worth it,
Take your heart and run.
Jessica married Nick Lachey on October 26, 2002, when she was 22 years of age. She filed for divorce on December 16, 2005, citing "irreconcilable differences."
Following her divorce she reportedly dated her Employee of the Month (2006) co-star Dane Cook and Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine.
Jessica dated rocker John Mayer for over nine months starting August 2006. She is currently dating Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo. The two have been together since November 2007.
