Photo Credit: PR PhotosJuly 17, 2008 (Sawf News) - Lauren Conrad hosted 'Animal Fair' magazine sponsored 9th annual "Paws For Style" at Arena in New York City on Tuesday, July 15, stylishly attired in red, but left leaving the event sponsors unstylishly red faced when she refused to walk the catwalk with a 'celebridog!'
The event was organized to help Humane Society raise funds for homeless animals. Conrad appears on the cover of Animal Fair's summer issue with her rescue dog Chloe outfitted in Conrad designed dress.

She matched it with her most favorite (to be read 'repeated') black Christian Louboutin peep toe pumps. She accessorized with small gold hoop earrings and left her long glossy hair, set in vertical waves, open with a middle parting. Holding her furry dog dressed in blue and red dress she beamed smiles for the photogs and her fans.
Animal Fair magazine founder, Wendy Diamond, wasn't entirely satisfied with Conrad's hosting of the event because she refused to walk down a catwalk with a dog named Toby at the end of the show!

But when TV personality Robert Verdi, doing the honors as emcee, called out Conrad's name she did not appear, disappointing the audience who had spent as much as $100 to $5000 to attend the show.
"Lauren Conrad ran for The Hills," announced Verdi.
"This is an event to raise money for homeless animals. It is not an event for Lauren Conrad and her assistant to party in New York at the All-Star weekend," said a disappointed Wendy.
Conrad's rep countered saying:
"Lauren just wanted to help the animals. She agreed to pose for the cover of the magazine, host the event, do press at the event and donate clothing, all of which she did. We are unaware of any other commitments. Lauren continues to support the Humane Society, as it is a wonderful organization."
In another development Kitson, a trendy boutique in Hollywood, has dropped Conrad's clothing line for lack of interest. According to the store owner Fraser Ross the aspiring designer never responded to their requests for personal appearances at the store for promotions.
"They need to realize it's no different than selling your album, your TV shows, your movies," OK! magazine quoted Ross as saying. "You have to keep promoting it."
The store also dropped Victoria Beckham's dVb menswear line for selling poorly.
