They have named their daughter, who weighed in at 6 lbs., 7.5 oz, Sunday Rose Kidman Urban.
"Husband Keith was by Nicole's side, and mother and baby are very well," said a spokesman for the couple.
A statement on Keith's website reads:
"Earlier this morning Nic gave birth to our beautiful baby girl, Sunday Rose Kidman Urban. We want to thank everybody that has kept us in their thoughts and prayers. We feel very blessed and grateful that we can share this joy with all of you today."
Kidman already has two adopted children, Isabella, 15, and Connor, 12, with her ex-husband Tom Cruise.
The Moulin Rouge actress, who has suffered miscarriages in the past, announced on January 7 that she was expecting her first biological child with her country singer husband.
Kidman and Urban met at a black-tie ball for Australians living in Los Angeles in summer 2005. The two married on Sunday June 25, 2006, at the Cardinal Cerretti Memorial Chapel in the grounds of St Patrick's Estate, Manly in Sydney.
