May 20, 2008 (Sawf News) - New York model Masha Markova has sued Lindsay Lohan for the theft of her $11,000 blond mink fur coat.
In a lawsuit filed in NY state court, Markova claims Lindsay's actions were "intentional, oppressive and malicious and were carried out with reckless disregard" for Markova's rights.
Markova, 22, a Columbia University student, claims that the coat went missing on January 26, during a private party at New York nightspot 1Oak where Lindsay sat next to her.
Days later Markova saw a photo of Lindsay wearing the same coat in OK! magazine and asked her lawyer to contact Lindsay's attorney. The coat was returned in February by 1Oak, smelling of "cigarettes and liquor" and without any acknowledgment of wrong doing. Not entirely satisfied, Markova demanded a three-week-long rental of $10,000.
Lindsay's rep, who has earlier denied allegations of theft, was tight lipped about the case filed by Markova.
Interestingly, Lindsay had sworn off fur after PETA put her on their Worst Dressed List for wearing it.
