Photo Credit: PR PhotosMay 16, 2008 (Sawf News) - Intense media scrutiny and Jessica's overbearing father, Joe Simpson, caused the split between Jessica Simpson and Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo.
Tony had "really had it" with the paparazzi and felt that the relationship was adversely affecting his football career.
Joe Simpson, was "not only telling Jessica every move to make, but now has begun to offer unsolicited advice to Tony on his career, endorsement opportunities and things that have nothing to do with him dating Jessica," a close friend of Tony told the Chicago Sun-Times.
Tony was also not happy with Jessica referring to him as her "future husband" in a recent interview to Glamour magazine, the friend added. In other interviews Jessica had said she would like Tony to be the father of her children.
Though Jessica's rep has denied the split the friend insists the two "are definitely over".
Interestingly, other sources close to Jessica and Tony tell Chicago Sun-Times that the pro-baller will still be escorting Jessica to sister Ashlee's wedding to Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz this Saturday.
