May 2, 2008 (Sawf News) - Bishop Clifford Petty of the National Church of God says he presided over the wedding of Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon. The two had earlier obtained a marriage license in Eleuthera, the Bahamas.
Petty told People that he did not give a sermon, but refused to divulge additional details.
According to the New York Post, the couple married at Mariah's home in Eleuthera, the Bahamas, on Wednesday, April 30, in the presence of a few friends. The ceremony was described as "very impulsive."
The law in the Bahamas stipulates that a wedding can only be solemnized if the couple has stayed in the islands for a minimum of 48 hours and obtained a wedding license within 90 days.
