April 14, 2008 (Sawf News) - Heather Mills was seen deep in conversation with Paris Hilton's publicist Elliot Mintz, following the Miss USA 2008 pageant in which she sat as a judge and was booed by the audience.
Unfazed by the negative reaction of the audience, the former wife of Sir Paul McCartney, who recently won a $50 million divorce settlement from him, expressed a desire to settle down in the US.
"In England, people don't like me," she said.
"But I'm going to move to America, Los Angeles hopefully. I love England but everything that has happened makes me realize I'll be better off in the States," she added.
It is being speculated that her meeting with Elliot Mintz could be connected to her plans to settle in the US.
Elliot Mintz is credited with having made Paris Hilton a household name worldwide, even though no one is quite sure where her talent lies.
"Elliot thinks her [Heather's] bad reputation is nothing more than a challenge. He thinks Heather could become a big star," a source told UK's Sun.
"After Paris's stint in jail she was getting a lot of flak and now she's more in demand than ever. There are a lot of agents in LA who would represent Heather for nothing as they know her notoriety could end up being very profitable.
"Look at Fergie - when she left the UK she wasn't exactly popular with the Brits but America embraced her."
