Photo Credit: PR PhotosApril 9, 2008 (Sawf News) - In a post on their website, Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz have announced that they are engaged, ending months of speculation that started on New Year Eve, when Ashlee was spotted wearing a band on her left ring finger.
"We know there has been a lot of speculation recently about Pete and I and we wanted our fans to be the first to know, because you guys are the best. Yes, we are thrilled to share that we are happily engaged. Thank you for all of your support and well wishes -- it means the world to us. We consider this to be a very private matter, and we wanted to be the first to tell you and to hear it straight from us."
A rep for Ashlee confirmed the engagement to ET.
Speaking on Fuse TV's The Sauce, February 27, Ashlee admitted that the bling on her ring finger was a promise ring from Pete.
"It just means that he hasn't asked my Dad yet...," she added.
