Photo Credit: Sawf NewsApril 3, 2008 (Sawf News) - Appearing on the Late Show with David Letterman Wednesday night, April 2 to promote his new film Leatherheads, George Clooney narrated how he discovered that Britney Spears was his neighbor staying across the cul-de-sac near his house.
The actor told David Letterman that as he returned home from dinner one night and was readying to go to bed he saw police choppers all around his house.
"I have a guest house at the end of the driveway. The choppers had search lights shinning out of them and there were five or six of them and I thought someone had broken out of prison and escaped and they are in the cul-de-sac …and I am afraid they might be in my guest house," he told a very amused Letterman.
Clooney's sister sometimes stays in his guest house so he called her up but she told him she was in her apartment. When Clooney told her about the choppers around his house, she got on to the internet to find out what was going on.
In the meantime, Clooney decided to get proactive.
"I got a baseball bat and I walked out to the end of my driveway with the bat to beat the hell out of these fugitives," he said.
The excitement ended when his sister called him and told him "that Britney Spears is being hauled off to the hospital."
