Ashlee, who appeared on Fuse TV's The Sauce to promote her upcoming album Bittersweet World, then clarified:
"It just means that he hasn't asked my Dad yet..."
Ashlee's father Joe Simpson, who is also her manager, is rumored to keep a tight leash on her personal life.
Ashlee, younger sister of singer Jessica Simpson, has been dating Fall Out Boy bassist Wentz for over a year now.
The couple recently made a spoof video in which they claimed they are having a baby to help stop illegal music downloading.
The video caused intense speculation that Ashlee is indeed pregnant.
When quizzed about her rings by The Sauce host Jared Cotter last night, Ashlee's immediate response was:
"No I'm not pregnant."
