Photo Credit: Ronald Asadorian / Splash News 27 August 2007 (Sawf News) - Speeding on I - 10 in her white Mercedes Friday (25 Aug 2007) night on her way to Las Vegas, presumably to meet up with boyfriend Chris Angel, troubled pop star Britney Spears was pulled over for speeding by the The Los Angeles Highway patrol.
As a patrol car quickly accelerated to catch up with the speeding Britney, the single mom characteristically tried to wish her troubles away, nonchalantly continuing on her way to Vegas for close to a mile.
She eventually exited the freeway and pulled over at a petrol station, which was just as well because another police car was poised to take up the chase.
As Britney brought her car to a halt, the officers took up defensive positions with hands on their guns and torches raised whilst one slowly approached the car and requested for identification.
The female officer who illuminated Britney's face initially failed to recognize her. It was only when Britney presumably identified herself that the officer realized who was the offender.
Britney pleaded innocence and used the old 'paparazzi were chasing me' line.
Incredibly, she was just given a warning and sent on her way.
In fact, the sternest words of the whole incident were from one of the officers towards the ever present media.
It pays to be a popstar...even if you are inexorably tail spinning down from stellar heights.
