Washington, June 12 (ANI): Hotel heiress Paris Hilton’s lawyer has denied that the socialite is receiving any preferential treatment at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility's unit.
Attorney Richard Hutton said that the staff at the facility has been taking good care of Hilton, and that she is being treated like every other prisoner.
"The staff here is giving her excellent medical care. She's being treated the same as everyone else in jail. She is receiving no preferential treatment,” people magazine quoted him, as saying.
On June 11, Rev. Al Sharpton, founder and president of National Action Network, which is a political, social, and activist-oriented organization, met with Sheriff Lee Baca, who transferred Hilton to house arrest, to discuss the whole debate of the way in which the Simple Life star’s case has been handled.
"I told him what prompted this is the feeling that ... there is an unfairness in how reassignment and early releases have been meted out," Sharpton said.
Defending his involvement in Hilton’s case, Sharpton added that citizens of the country have called upon his organization to get involved in the case.
"If I lead a national organization, and citizens in the county who are members of the organization call for us to get involved, the question is, 'Why wouldn't I get involved,” he said. (ANI)
