Washington, May 22 (ANI): English actress Naomie Harris has taken a swipe at people who ‘denigrate’ women for being skinny.

The 30-year-old found it ‘rude’ when a crewmate of her 2000 flick Miami Vice told her that she looked ‘thin’ and suggested the actress not to lose more weight at the movie’s premiere.

"At the premiere of Miami Vice, one of the people who worked on the movie came up to me and said, 'Don't lose any more weight - you look too skinny.' I thought it was so rude - you wouldn't go up to someone and say, 'You look too fat', but it is accepted that you can criticize someone who is skinny,” Harris was quoted by The Mail, as saying.

The 28 Days Later actress insisted that people should not set a standard for women’s body as they may be of ‘different shapes and sizes’.

"I wish the world didn't have one ideal of how women should be because we come in so many different shapes and sizes,” she said.

The actress feels that one should not put down some one by calling her thin.

“And I don't think we should denigrate women who are skinny in order to celebrate women who are fatter - let's celebrate women of every size,” she added. (ANI)
