Freelance writer Marlise Elizabeth Kast has penned a new tell-all about the tabloid biz, and reveals in her book ‘Tabloid Prodigy’ the lengths that editors will go to make their stories sell.
Kast reveals in her book how editors at Globe asked her to probe whether best pals Tobey Maguire and Leonardo DiCaprio’s friendship was hiding a deeper ‘secret’.
Kast got in touch with the ‘Spider-Man’ star’s mother, Wendy, who unwittingly gave the editors ammunition by “divulging details of how the two friends 'shared a bed and wore ribbons in their hair’,” reports the New York Post.

But I think Leo and Tobey are the crossover between men and women. They have feminine traits they are willing to accept. They aren't ashamed to have any sort of title, even if that means someone calling them gay."
And while the author herself wasn't about to claim the stars were gay, "Wendy had provided exactly what the editors wanted - insinuations", she says in her book.
The news of Maguire and DiCaprio’s ‘relationship’ made headlines news, and prompted the actors to issue statements denying the reports.
While DiCaprio’s rep Ken Sunshine insisted that the report "is untrue", Maguire's spokesman Kelly Bush added, "This is so ridiculous I don't feel the need to respond."
What makes the actors’ ‘gay’ relationship a little difficult to believe, however, is not the fact that both of them have dated a host of beautiful women, but also that, along with David Blaine and Lukas Haas, they were members of the ‘P---y Posse’.
DiCaprio is currently dating Israeli bombshell Bar Refaeli, while Maguire is already planning his wedding to fiancée Jennifer Meyer, with whom he has a daughter named Ruby. (ANI)
