Photo Credit: Juan Garces / Splash News24 Feb 2007 (Sawf News) - The fiercely private Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter and guitarist opened up somewhat and acknowledged a developing romance with pop singer Jessica Simpson.
In a telephonic interview by Time Out New York, John was quizzed, "So, what about Jessica? According to Extra, you can't deny you're a couple anymore."
"I don't think I've ever denied it," Mayer responded. "When did I deny it? I'm having the best time of my life, so if the names don't make sense to people, that's so small to me."
Walking the red carpet at the Grammy Awards earlier this month Mayer had, with charming ambivalence, hinted of a romance with Jessica. When Ryan Seacrest asked him about Jessica he responded in Japanese and asked Seacrest to "Find a Japanese person and decode it."
"She's a lovely woman and I'm glad to be with her," was what he said.
Mayer and Simpson were spotted kissing and hugging at a Grammy after-party, and posed for photos.
Mayer took home two Grammys this year - one for Best Pop Vocal Album for his platinum-selling third release, Continuum, and one for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance.
He is currently on his official Continuum tour through North America and Australia. The tour kicked off on January 25, 2007, in Jacksonville, FL. and will end at Vancouver, Canada in May, 2007. Jessica Simpson has been joining Mayer on the tour off and on.
She was last seen with him when he played at Murray State University in Kentucky on 16 Feb 2007.

Hello!!!!!!!! We know who John Mayer is!!! He's an amazing musician, writer, composer, singer and his last album "Continuum" is by far the best album i've ever bought.
I'm sorry... but he deserves more credit than Jessica. And you shouldn't talk about him like his a suitcase or a thing that she carries around.

Yes couldn’t have said it better myself. He is not her bloody handbag! I am yet to understand the whole fiasco, but I respect whatever he chooses to do.
And I have read a few different articles and they all say different things! Get your bloody facts straight before you start writing bullshit to the public to make up some cutesy story because you can’t find anything else to write about.
