14 Feb. 2007 (Sawf News) - Howard K. Stern's older sister, Bonnie Stern, says Anna Nicole was never sure of Dannielynn's paternity. Months before Dannielynn's birth, Anna Nicole told her Larry Birkhead could be the father.
"When I spoke to (Smith) in March, when she found out she was pregnant, I took her shopping, and she told me the baby was due in mid-October, and that one other person could have been the father and that was Larry Birkhead, but nobody else."
Bonnie's admission will likely prove a shot in the arm for Birkhead's quest for custody of Smith's five month old baby daughter currently in the custody of Howard K. Stern, who is listed as her father on the birth certificate.
Birkhead filed suit in Nassau, Bahamas on Jan. 30 saying the birth certificate is a fraud.
The admission will also marginalize claims of other wannabe fathers that surfaced only after Anna Nicole's death.
It is being reported that Birkhead will soon arrive in the Bahamas to "domesticate" court rulings made in Los Angeles, one of which stipulates that DNA must be collected from Dannielynn by Feb. 21 for a paternity test.
A judge in the Bahamas issued an injunction Tuesday to prevent Dannielynn from leaving the island chain. The ruling was sought by Virgie Arthur, mother of Anna Nicole to ensure the availability of Dannielynn for the DNA test if and when they are ordered on behalf of Birkhead by a Bahamian court.
"I want Larry to have custody of the child," Arthur said, minutes after the judge granted the injunction in a closed door hearing.
