Washington, Jan. 22: Grammy award winner Alicia Keys is offering university scholarships to four students from selected cities in the US.
The 25- year old soul singer’s scholarship program is a part of ‘From The Ground Up’, a Jacksonville NGO started by her manager DJ Walton and will offer 5,000 dollars scholarships to students from 4 cities that includes, Jacksonville, Florida, New Orleans, Louisiana, Atlanta, Georgia and New York City's Harlem neighborhood.
The R&B singer has said that the program is looking out for students with an interest in college education and in need of financial aid.
"We're just looking for standout students who are definitely college-bound and need a little bit of help financially to really achieve their dreams, “ ContactMusic quoted her, as saying.
In return for the aid, the students will present community services and represent the organization at school concerts every semester. (ANI)
