10 Jan 2007 (BANG Showbiz) - Justin Timberlake wowed thousands of fans on Monday night (08 Jan 2007) as he kicked off his world tour in San Diego.
The 'SexyBack' singer performed old and new hits including 'Senorita' and 'Cry Me A River' during the breathtaking three hour set.
However, Justin's apparent heartache over his alleged recent split from girlfriend of three years Cameron Diaz was evident, as he belted out romantic numbers like 'Last Night'.
Justin told the audience before the touching performance: "Sometimes love can't be easy so I'm going to do these songs."
Justin - whose romance with Cameron reportedly came to an end just before Christmas - also used the occasion to pay tribute to his biggest idol, Elvis Presley.
The late rock 'n' roll star would have celebrated his 72nd birthday on the night of the concert.
Before breaking into the Elvis classic 'Heartbreak Hotel', Justin said: "It is a special night because it's one of my idol's birthday. It is Elvis's birthday. Since I am from Memphis, I'm going to sing a song."
The show at the ipayOne sports arena was opened by another superstar - Pink.
Justin was also joined on stage by hip-hop star Timbaland.

I think the best thing Justin did was dump Cameron. I am sure he is upset but not heartbroken, I am a BIG Justin fan I am also 35 years old. Justin is a very talented guy he can do anything I never thought him and Cameron were good together, he can do much better and I do not mean Brittney that's another story. He needs a nice girl, I do not think celebs should be with celebs it never works out to much com…
