Britney Spears is set to host the New Year's Eve party at Pure Nightclub, Caesars Palace, Las Vegas, a spokesperson for the club told People. The announcement coming close on the heels of an earlier report that she was negotiating a 20-week, $15 million exclusive performance contract with Palms Hotel and Casino in Vegas, suggests that Spears was doing more than just partying in the very dubious company of Paris Hilton during her visit to Vegas earlier this month.
After she dispatched the FedEx consignment, and before her visit to Vegas, Spears had been hard at work in New York studios, picking up the threads to her highly successful music career. However, following her visit to Vegas it appeared she had let go as the serious partying in Vegas gave in to even more serious partying in Malibu over the Thanksgiving weekend and beyond. The relentless partying fueled rumblings that the former pop diva was missing her recording sessions.
A source told New York Post’s PageSix that Spears has, "been missing recent recording sessions because she has been out all night partying. The label [Jive] is very worried."
Spears was quoted as telling friends, "I gave birth for 21/2 years, and now I want to party." However, that was just part of the truth. She has also been celebrating the deals that she struck up while in Vegas.
It was perhaps with good reason that Spears rep rubbished reports of her missing recording sessions, “She is not scheduled to record in L.A.”
