Photo Credit: Asadorian / Splash NewsWashington, Nov 15: After months of giving each other the cold shoulder, the Queen of pop Madonna and her heir apparent Britney Spears are finally on talking terms once again thanks to the ‘Toxic’ singer’s upcoming divorce.
The duo, who reportedly had a falling out after Spears refused to join Madonna’s religion of Kabbalah, has apparently forgiven each other after Spears got in touch with the music icon to tell her that she was giving hubby Kevin Federline the boot.
A source revealed to Life & Style magazine that Spears got in touch with Liz Rosenberg, Madonna’s publicist so that she could get the ‘Hung Up’ singer’s number as she wanted to give her the news of the divorce before it became public knowledge.
The move, the source claims, is what has helped bridge the rift between the two.
"(Britney) just called [Liz's office] and said, 'Can you tell Madonna I called to let her know I filed for divorce?'" The Bosh quoted the source, as telling the magazine.
When the publicist’s receptionist expressed her sympathies over the divorce, Spears reportedly told her that Madonna would be ‘thrilled’ with the news.
"Thank you, but she'll be thrilled. I wanted to let her know before it hit, but I didn't have her number in London and wasn't sure how to reach her if she was in New York," Spears said.
And, it seems that Spears really was bang on target about Madonna’s reaction for the mum-of-three reportedly said, "Great. I have this number. This is good news". (ANI)
