© AFP/File Kevin WinterLondon, Oct 31: Victoria Beckham's fledgling friendship with Katie Holmes - that's already being reckoned as the world's most high profiled one - has been badly derailed after Posh asked her new buddy to lose some weight.
The duo's friendship first blossomed a month ago, when Posh flew Holmes over to Paris Fashion Week for a shopping trip.
Since then, the 27-year-old star has invited the former Spice Girl to be a style adviser at her wedding to Tom Cruise in Italy next month.
But according to sources, the love-fest has seemingly come to a dramatic halt over a series of rows between the fashionista, 32, and her unofficial client.
A close pal said that Katie isn't pleased after super-skinny Victoria suggested she shed a few more pounds before her big day.
The friend also added that while Posh, who has been plagued by rumors of eating disorders, only wanted to help the actress get in tip-top shape for her nuptials, her advice hasn't been welcomed by Holmes in the same spirit.
"Victoria didn't mean any harm, she just wanted to help Katie look her best for her big day. She offered to share her diet secrets but Katie immediately got defensive, saying she didn't need any advice," The Daily Mail quoted the friend, as saying.
"Katie is really proud of the weight she's managed to lose since giving birth to Suri in April and she doesn’t think she has to lose any more," the friend added.
And as if that wasn't enough to evoke the bride-to-be, Victoria also turned her criticism towards Holmes' man, saying Tom needs to get his floppy mop chopped before 18 November, and get a cool hair-cut like David.
"Vic pointed out that Katie will have to live with his hair in the wedding photos for the rest of her life. She recommended Katie to ask Tom to get a new, fashionable haircut like David," the pal concluded. (ANI)
