London, Oct 27: X-Factor judge Sharon Osbourne has criticized Madonna’s adoption of the African boy, and has compared the act to buying a designer handbag.

The 53-year-old told US radio jockey Howard Stern, “It is like getting a Louis Vuitton handbag," insisting there are several other ways through which the pop diva could have lent financial help to the kid's dad.

"It is a crock of s***. If she wants to help the kid she should have got the father a little trade going, a fruit stand or something. She bought a baby for God’s sake,” The Sun quoted her, as adding.

Meanwhile, Yohane Banda, the dad of 13-month-old David has said he’s “delighted” the singer is looking after his son.

The 31-year-old dismissed earlier reports he had agreed to let Madge adopt his son only for a set period of time.

He also rejected stories he hoped David would return to him in Malawi after finishing schooling.

“We made an agreement. There was no misunderstanding, I gave my blessing to Madonna. She and her husband promised he’d have a better life. I was happy with that and I want to make it legal,” he said, speaking from poverty-ravaged Malawi.

“I’d like to tell Madonna not to worry about what people are saying. I wish her all the best raising my son,” he added.

Yohane gave David to an orphanage when he was five weeks old, as he was unable to care for him after the baby’s mother died of an Aids-related illness.(ANI)
