© AFP/Getty Images/File Kevin WinterWashington, Oct 22: Welsh pop veteran Tom Jones will take on former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson at a celebrity bout event later this year.
Iron Mike, as Tyson is better known, revealed his surprising opponent shortly after expressing a desire to take on female Texan boxing champ Ann Wolfe.
The bouts will be part of a series of high profile charity events designed to propel Tyson back into the limelight.
"It's just going to be marvelous. Tom Jones is going to be one of the boxers," Contactmusic quoted Tyson as saying.
"What if I get beat? Who knows - I might even enjoy it! "I'm not interested in smashing people. This is gonna be fun," he added.
Tyson had to spend three years in prison after being convicted of rape in 1992, and he had once bit off part of boxer Evander Holyfield's ear.
He retired from boxing in June last year. (ANI)
