London, Oct 17: "True love dies slowly," and that seems to be the case with Sir Paul McCartney, if reports that he has phoned his estranged wife's personal trainer - to ask him if they are having an affair, hold any truth.

According to The Mirror, the ex Beatle called up Ben Amigoni to clarify his doubts about Heather Mills having an affair with him.

Sources say Amigoni, 22, was stunned to receive Sir Paul's call, and denied stories of his link-ups with the 38 year model.

Reports also suggest that the legendary singer even invited Ben, who has been snapped on long bike rides with his estranged wife, to his home for a chat.

"Ben got a phone call out of the blue. He couldn't believe that Sir Paul was bothering to ring him, let alone what he was asking him. Ben denied there was anything going on and felt a bit embarrassed about the whole thing. He didn't make any arrangements to meet as he felt he didn't need to," the paper quoted a source, as saying.

"Sir Paul said if Ben wasn't comfortable talking on the phone, he could come to his Peasmarsh estate for a chat," he added.

But while Sir Paul's spokesman has declined to comment, his friends have confirmed the claims, insisting that the star, who has a two-year-old daughter Bea with Heather, was reassured by their little chat.

"Paul is pretty relaxed about the whole thing and doesn't believe anything is going on. He knows that Heather needs to work closely with her personal trainer to keep the muscles in her leg strong. But if he suspected something more serious was going, it would be a totally different story," said a close pal.(ANI)
