Washington, Sept 29: Pathologist Cyril Wecht, who had recently discovered the lethal drug combo that killed Anna Nicole Smith’s son, has blasted the doctor who prescribed the anti-depressants and painkillers for the 20-year-old.
The celebrated pathologist is convinced Daniel died due to the intake of methadone, Zoloft and Lexapro, which combined to cause a lethal cardiac failure. He is now pointing the finger of blame at the doctor who prescribed the pills to Smith, insisting that although they're all legal drugs, they shouldn't be taken together.
"You'd have to be totally negligent to prescribe all three drugs. No way. I would recommend anybody not to take even two drugs that work in this fashion... I'm sure that somebody failed to explain this to Daniel," Contactmusic quoted him as telling CNN newsman Larry King.
Anna Nicole's longtime attorney and friend, Howard K Stern also described the scenario before Daniel’s death on the show saying, "At one point Daniel said to me, How come I'm so tired?' and, in hindsight, I wish I had seen that as some sort of signal."
Wecht reveals this was a clear sign that something was wrong.
“His complaints of being tired, while... not at all strange for someone who has just flown cross-country from LA to Miami and then to Nassau.., this fits in. It's a restlessness, it's a drowsiness and it is associated with these kind of drugs," Wecht said. (ANI)
