12 April 2007 (Sawf News) - On the evening of April 10, 2007, the movie Perfect Stranger had its New York premiere at the Ziegfield Theater. The film stars X-Men actress Halle Berry and Hollywood heartthrob Bruce Willis. Berry plays an investigative reporter (Rowena Price) who discovers that the murder of a friend may be linked to executive Harrison Hill, played by Willis. She goes undercover as an office temp in Hill’s firm and also as a girl he often chats with flirtatiously on the internet, in order to get to the truth. The film hits theatres April 13th.
Now, with two hotties such as an Academy Award winner and a Victoria’s Secret supermodel, we kind of expected a little more than what we got: flash and trash. Now, mind you, from the neck up they looked amazing! It was from the neck down that we had a problem. In fact, it had us reaching for aspirin, it gave us such a bad fashion hangover.
First, the star of our show, Ms. Halle Berry. Girlfriend seems to be doing everything right these days, new man, new films, and perfectly toned body. And yet the buck stops here:
The dress gave her such a cheap look we felt like taking her shopping at Saks and making us promise she would never wear this thing again. It’s not to say that Halle’s figure can’t carry off just about anything in the fashion world, but it’s not her fault the dress wouldn’t look good on anyone except maybe a mannequin. Which feels ironic considering Halle is named after a department store. However, when one reaches a pinnacle in one’s professional life known as Oscar, the cheap outfits just have to go.
The bangs, the polished makeup, and the stilettos we adore. And yet, the dress goes in so many directions, and up isn’t one of them! The top of the halter (if you can call it that) feels to us like a third-grade kid took some string and thought it would be fun to make an outfit. Then someone had the brilliant idea to finish it off with the world’s biggest sequins. Now, if one of Halle’s friends doesn’t hit us in the eye by mistake, one of the sequins on her outfit surely will. We fear for our lives.
We fear that Halle has lost all senses wearing this out in public. We want to remember her as the woman who wore Elie Saab and rocked everyone’s night becoming the first African-American woman to win an Oscar.

We mean, short LBDS with absolutely not an inch of class between them?
We refer to the clothes, not the women.
How is it that both managed to look smashing drop dead glamorous in the hair and makeup department, especially lingerie-wearing Lima, and then mess up their outfits? Coincidence? We think not. Something in the New York City air perhaps? One can tell she thought it would look special, the updo, the stud earrings, the subtle makeup. But then, why hide one of the runway’s most fabulous figures?
This dress, pets, is for someone who’s had a few too many donuts, not someone who walks the runway for a living, wearing very little covering. The backless design is about the only kind thing we can point out in this look. Otherwise, the bow around her neck, and choosing to wear that Brazilian mane of hair pulled back, together just kill the whole thing. It goes to show, a perfect figure is a terrible thing to waste. And forgive us, Adriana, if we pretended you were indeed a "perfect stranger" in this getup.
