LOS ANGELES (AFP) - The 34-year-old actor starred along with his brother in 2001's "The Royal Tenenbaums", and on his own in "Rushmore" and the mega-hit "Legally Blonde" films starring Reese Witherspoon.
He is now appearing in the comedy "The Family Stone," with Clare Danes, Diane Keaton and Sarah Jessica Parker, and will also soon appear in "Super Ex-Girlfriend".
Also coming is the comedy "The Wendell Baker Story," which he wrote and co-directed with brother, Andrew, and which also co-stars elder brother Owen.
Owen Wilson, 37, was named as a presenter of cinema's highest honours on Monday, joining a growing list of stars who will hand out the iconic golden statuettes in Hollywood on March 5.
He has had roles in such hits as last year's comedy "Wedding Crashers," 2000's "Meet the Parents," with Ben Stiller and Robert DeNiro, and its 2004 sequel "Meet the Fockers."
Also already confirmed as presenters are 2005 best actress and best actor Academy Award winners Hilary Swank and Jamie Foxx, and last year's winner of the best supporting actor Oscar, Morgan Freeman.
Swank, 31, who was the first Oscar presenter to be unveiled this year, was invited back after winning the best actress statuette for her performance as a female boxer in 2004's big winner, "Million Dollar Baby".
Foxx, 38, won the best actor Oscar last year for his portrayal of the late soul music legend Ray Charles in the biopic "Ray".
Freeman, 67, won his statuette for his role as a gruff boxing veteran in Clint Eastwood's "Million Dollar Baby".
Also doing a turn on stage at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood will be starlet Jessica Alba, 24, who has taken roles in films including "Fantastic Four."
Nominations for the 78th annual Academy Awards will be announced in Beverly Hills on January 31.
