Britney's Piece of Me has been nominated in three categories: MTV video of the year, Best Pop Video and Best Female Video.
Other artistes nominated for the award were: Mariah Carey for Touch My Body, Katy Perry for I Kissed A Girl, Rihanna for Take A Bow and Jordin Sparks for No Air.
After winning the award, Britney thanked God, her family, her sons and her fans.
The award was presented by Jamie Foxx, who mentioned that both Britney and Mariah Carey who competed for the award, have not won in the past.
