August 8, 2008 (Sawf News) - Britney Spears, who has been nominated in two categories for MTV Video Music Awards 2008, taped a promotional video for the event earlier this week.
The video shows Britney in an comical and improvised question and answer session with VMA host, Russell Brand. It also features LL Cool J, FNMTV host/ Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz, and a 9,000 pound elephant!
"The joke of the whole thing is 'there is an elephant in the room'," a source told People.
In the banter, the guests also allude to Russell being a relatively unknown host; Britney at one point addresses him as 'Russell Brown' and LL Cool J calls him 'Russell Bland.'
Despite 17 nominations Britney has yet to walk away with a VMA. This year she has been nominated under two categories for the song Piece of Me from her last album Blackout : Best Pop Video and Best Female Video.
There is still no definitive word on whether the 26-year-old pop star who is recovering her mental health will perform at the award ceremony this year.
Britney's performance in 2007 was embarrassing not just to her but also millions who viewed it world wide; she appeared to sleep walk through it unable to lip sync or keep up with her dancers.
