Refuting rumors that her character in ABC's medical drama will be dropped, ABC entertainment president Stephen McPherson said Wednesday, July 16, "She's absolutely staying with the show."
"There's an unbelievable storyline for her which is really central to everything that's going to go on this season. We're really excited about that," McPherson added.
The rumors surfaced after Heigl withdrew her name from Emmy consideration, provocatively saying, "I did not feel that I was given the material this season to warrant an Emmy nomination."
